DXA Body Composition
Clinical-grade body composition testing to quantify fat mass, lean mass, visceral fat, and bone density.
A dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) scan gives you a detailed look at what your body is made of — not just your weight. Use precise data to enhance resistance training, dietary protocols, and medical interventions with measurable, objective progress.
What It Measures

Lean Mass
Track total & regional fat-free mass to reveal imbalances & ensure results

Fat Mass
Monitor total & regional fat mass to achieve health, performance, & physique goals

Visceral Fat
Identify fat around the abdominal organs to monitor and improve cardio-metabolic health

Bone Density
Assess bone density for sustainable skeletal health to prevent & reduce fragility
What It’s For
Baseline & Benchmark Testing
Establish your condition before, during, and after nutrition, training, or lifestyle changes
Health Optimization
Track critical longevity markers over time with clear, research-based directionality
Weight Management
Measure fat loss accurately, clearing confusion from unreliable scales/methods
Body Recomposition
Pin point your composition, so you can lose fat while gaining muscle and bone density
Athletic Performance
Connect body composition outcomes with training stimulus, recovery, and adaptations
What to Expect
Step 1

Check In
We review your goals, confirm screening questions, and ensure the scan is best for you
Step 2

The Scan
You lie comfortably on the DXA bed while the scanner collects your body composition data
Step 3

Report Review
We explain your results so you understand what the numbers mean and where to focus next
Step 4

Next Steps
Use your results to guide training, nutrition, and follow-up scans for measurable, reliable progress
Your Report Includes

Body Fat Percentage
Your total and regional body fat percentages

Regional Body Composition
Fat and lean mass by body region

Lean Mass Distribution
Where you are building or maintaining muscle.

Visceral Fat Accumulation
Abdominal organ-surrounding fat mass

Bone Metrics
Bone mineral content and density-related metrics

Comparison Over Time
Tracked changes across repeat scans
WHY DXA AT DXABOLICS

Low-Dose Imaging
DXA uses low levels of ionizing radiation, significantly less than a standard Chest X-Ray

Non-Invasive
No needles, no contrast, no pinching, no compression, no submerging, and no electrical current with no downtime

Human-Guided Review
We help you understand your results and turn them into clear next steps for your individual goals together

Track What Matters
Use objective data to monitor meaningful change over time
HOW TO PREPARE

Wear Light, Comfortable, Metal-Free Clothing
Wear comfortable clothing without metal zippers, snaps, or underwire; gowns are available to accommodate as needed

Remove Metal Accessories and Items
Remove jewelry, watches, belts, and metal accessories before the scan; gowns are available to accommodate as needed

Fast 3 Hours with Normal Hydration
Stay hydrated, but try not to eat a few hours beforehand as the food volume may slightly increase lean mass

Avoid Strenuous Exercise 24-Hours Beforehand
Schedule your session after a rest-day or try to avoid intense, vigorous exercise, where intramuscular swelling and/or fluid loss may skew results; light activity such as walking is no concern

Halt Calcium Supplementation
Halt the ingestion of any calcium supplements for 24 hours; do not stop any prescribed medications, unless your healthcare provider specifically informed you to cease for the test

Wait 14 days After Contrast-Based Imaging
Post-pone your scan for 2 weeks, if you recently took a barium, nuclear medicine, or imaging test with contact dye as it could interfere

Repeat scans consistently
Repeat benchmark scans, under similar conditions such as at the same time of day with normal habits (e.g. creatine supplementation, carbohydrate consumption, etc.) in place
